Atlasglobal has mapped out its planned expansion into Russian provinces after beginning Moscow services.
On 25 September, the Turkish carrier conducted a first scheduled flight between Istanbul Ataturk and Sheremetyevo airports using an Airbus A320.
It will provide a year-round daily service on the route, competing head-on with Russian flag carrier Aeroflot.
The new operation complements previously launched regular services to Krasnodar, Makhachkala, Nizhnekamsk and Samara.
Regional director Nejdhet Tashçy says Atlasglobal intends to take fuller advantage of Russian route rights secured under a bilateral air services agreement.
He adds that local destinations to be introduced next year include St Petersburg, Mineralnye Vody and Rostov-on Don.
