Turkey will take the first E737 after 7 year delay
First E737 belong to Peace Eagle Project flied from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facility to Konya 3th Air Force Base. The delivery of the first aircraft with a tail number 13-001 will be delivered after a ceremony in Konya planned on 21th February.
The project start-up in 2003 including 4 E737's and one ground control center. Planned delivery was in 2007 but slipped 7 years. First aircraft manufactured and converted in Seattle, following 3 came 'green' to Turkey. The conversion was made TAI in Ankara.
Boeing plans to give all 4 aircraft to Turkish Air Force in one year.
