Atlasglobal has named Sermed Temizkan as its new chief executive.
The Turkish carrier gave no reason for the change, but says the previous chief executive, Orhan Coskun, will remain at Atlasglobal as its general co-ordinator. Coskun had been in the top job since 2008.
Temizkan, a one-time Atlasglobal pilot, has headed the Istanbul-based Atlantic Flight Academy for the past six years. That training school was set up in 2011 as a joint venture between Atlasglobal and a local flying school as part of efforts to increase the pipeline of commercial pilots.
Atlasglobal flies scheduled and charter passenger flights domestically and on short-haul international routes from its Istanbul Ataturk base, FlightGlobal schedules data shows.
In late September, the airline revealed plans to significantly expand its routes to Russia after it began Moscow services. It also disclosed new routes to Germany and Spain.
