Turkish Airlines will add flights to Frankfurt, Berlin and Vienna from Ankara Esenboga airport as it looks to build mainline international services from the city.
The Star Alliance carrier will begin the routes at the start of the winter season on 29 October. It will serve Frankfurt three times a week, while Berlin and Vienna will operate twice-weekly.
It already has a presence on international routes from Ankara through its low-cost unit Anadolu Jet, but is now looking to operate some routes with its own aircraft, enabling it to offer a business-class product.
“We are also looking for Dusseldorf and Amsterdam flights from Ankara," says Turkish Airlines chairman Ilker Ayci. "[There will be] more to be added in the near future.”
